Job Title: Chief Data Officer and Chief Data Science Officer

Company: Allstate

Eric Huls is the Chief Data and Analytics Officer for the Allstate Insurance Company. He is responsible for developing and applying predictive analytics-based solutions across the enterprise in support of the company’s business strategies. He leads a team of data scientists, researchers and strategists who are aligned with business functions across the company to solve problems and identify opportunities where sophisticated analytics can lead to better outcomes.

Since joining Allstate in 2000 as an actuarial analyst in Pricing, Eric has held many leadership roles within Allstate’s Product Operations organization. In 2006, he took on the role of field product manager in Allstate’s Capital Region and joined the home office Quantitative Research and Analytics team in 2007, where he held various positions of increasing responsibility prior to being promoted to vice president in 2011. As vice president, Rating Plan Design, Modeling and Analytics, he was responsible for strategic direction and oversight in the development of robust rating plans, each of which has helped fuel success in our personal lines business.

Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Statistics from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
