Mr. Guizhou Hu joined Gen Re in 2015 as Chief of Decision Analytics. In this role he leads decision analytics research for Gen Re’s North American Life/Health division. He focuses on development of value-added reinsurance products, evaluating industry intelligence and models, and identifying ways to assist reinsurance clients in developing their own initiatives.
Guizhou was the Chief Scientist for BioSignia for 16 years. His primary expertise is predictive model development and applications in life insurance and underwriting. He helped develop a healthcare prediction model application called “Know Your Number,” a chronic disease risk communication tool, and a life insurance underwriting tool called “Mortality Assessment Technology.” He has also developed a patented statistical method called “synthesis analysis” that was used in building prediction models for the risk of chronic disease onset and mortality. He has a MD from Beijing Medical University and a PhD in epidemiology from Cornell.
